Taken place in Berlin in 1810, ‘’ Amour Fou ‘’ tells a story of Heinrich von Kleist, a young poet, who wishes to conquer the inevitability of death through love and his lover Henriette Vogel, the wife of a business acquaintance. Heinrich’s subsequent offer to the beguiling young woman at first holds scant appeal, which is until Henriette knows that she is suffering from terminal illness.
