Nine-year-old Thora Birch wants a pet. She manages to get her hands on a capuchin monkey, previously owned by a gypsy pickpocket. Now she must keep him as a secret from her parents while dealing with the money that turns out to be a trained pickpocket on the run from the scheming gypsy.
