Ash Ketchum, Misty and Pikachu go to Altomare for a special water race. When they arrive, they encounter two thieves Annie and Oakley who are trying to steal the powerful jewel - the Soul Dew, which are looked after by two especially vigilant Pokémon, Latios and Latias. When the two capture Latios, Ash and his friends try to help Laios and Latias deal with their attack and protect the Soul Dew.
