Starring Ralph Macchio, Pat Morita and Elisabeth Shue, this action drama follows Daniel, a teenage boy who has just arrived in California from New Jersey and immediately runs afoul of karate-trained high school bullies. Eager to fight back and impress his new girlfriend but afraid to confront the dangerous gang, Daniel asks his handyman Miyagi, whom he learns is a master of the martial arts, to teach him karate.
