The classical pianist Kate is diagnosed with incurable disease ALS. She and her husband, Evan, recruits Bec, a college student as her caregiver to help her with everyday things. Gradually, Kate inspires Bec not to throw her life away, while Bec helps Kate - literally and figuratively - to find her voice and finally live her life the way she truly wants.
